Heart Chakra
Day 2
Parts of the Body Governed
Symptoms of Healthy, Over Active and Closed Chakra

Today we are going to talk about what parts of our body are associated with the heart chakra and what symptoms to look out for if it is out of balance or closed. When this chakra is off balance many things can surface as physical symptoms to certain parts of our body. Our heart chakra deals with the circulatory system. It governs the heart, lungs, breasts, shoulders, arms, hands, rib cage, diaphragm, thymus and the esophagus.

Keeping these things in mind, below are symptoms that can occur when this chakra is unbalanced as well as closed. I have also included many emotional and mental difficulties we can experience.

Let’s take a look at what a HEALTHY chakra looks like first.

The State of Mind of someone with a healthy open chakra gives and receives love freely with no complications, has good relationships with loved ones, is compassionate, has confidence, is inspired and has hope for the future. One thing I would like to touch on is relationships. Please do not confuse the fact that sometimes, family relationships are difficult. There are some types of relationships that no matter how much we love them… they just don’t want to love us back. This is not because your chakra is out of balance… it is their chakra that is closed or needs help. Looking within will help you determine which is the case. We suffer from this all too often and sometimes believe it is our own fault. Maybe it is but it’s up to you to determine whether or not you are open to receive their love. If you are, then your heart chakra is in balance and it is their issue… not yours. Honor that and be ok with it.

The Physical Health of someone with a healthy open chakra has healthy circulation and is generally in great health.

A lot of times, someone with a strong state of mind can overcome any obstacle with physical difficulties so your state of mind is key.

Now let’s move on to symptoms of an OVERACTIVE chakra.

The State of Mind of someone with an overactive chakra can cause someone to love carelessly and lack proper boundaries in friendships and intimate relationships. They typically give and give to the point of neglecting self which can also cause you to lose your sense of identity. Often they feel they have to say yes to everything and everyone even if it goes against their instincts. Another result of this overactive chakra is codependency. Being ruled by your emotions can also lead to overwhelming sadness or anger, grief and despair, greediness and an unnatural sense of happiness all with little to no control.

The Physical Health of someone with an overactive heart chakra can experience heart and circulatory symptoms which can be high blood pressure, heart palpitations and possible heart attack. Pain in the neck and shoulders is common which can move down to the arms and hands.

Last but not least symptoms of a CLOSED chakra.

The State of Mind of someone with a closed heart chakra can cause thoughts to become negative leading to a grim outlook on life. This turns into a spiraling affect which leads to the feelings of being un-loved, not worthy of love or anything positive in their life and un-appreciated. Barriers can be built up so that no one can touch their heart making them feel safe but can also reinforce the feeling of being alone in a cruel and unloving world. These barriers can be very difficult to break down but it is possible. Being wrapped up in all these negative thoughts can cause negative people and situations to gravitate to you pushing you further into the abyss of a non-loving atmosphere.

The Physical Symptoms of someone with a closed heart chakra: Because this chakra governs the circulatory system one can experience poor circulation which can lead to high blood pressure and possible coronary disease. The lungs and chest area can experience chest pains, asthma, lung and breast cancers, pneumonia, coughs, colds and allergies among other things. There can also be pain in the shoulders, upper-back, arms and hands.

Now I know that could be a lot of you… I’ve even got some of those symptoms but just because we are suffering from these types of ailments does not mean that getting your chakra aligned and balanced will cure everything. Your state of mind plays a big role in that as well.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms whether they are physical or mind related, PLEASE seek professional medical help as this information is not a diagnoses by any means. While working on balancing your chakras is important… so is letting your doctor know what problems you are facing.

If you are a Reiki Practitioner, knowing these things can help with which chakras to work with the most.

So tomorrow, we will take a look at what crystals and stones will aid in the balancing of this chakra. I’ve got some really good stone combinations to help with different aspects which I think you’ll find quite handy.

In Love & Light Always,
