Throat Chakra
Day 1
The Basics
This chakra represents our communication and will center. This is where we have the need to be heard, our need to speak and our need to listen. This chakra resonates with self-expression and is also highly creative. Honesty is extremely important to this chakra as we have the need to be truthful to others as well as ourselves. Sometimes we are compelled to speak honestly which can sometimes get us into trouble. Not a lot of people like to hear the honest truth so using your inner guidance can sometimes be tricky.
Our spiritual lessons within the throat chakra are the need to speak our truth and how we express it. Sometimes we may be angry and then suppress that truth as well as our emotions. This can cause that “lump in the throat” feeling we get when we don’t know how to respond or suppress our feelings.
The challenge for this chakra is lying. Lying is very harmful to not only our bodies but to our souls. It violates our spirit and can cause many physical issues in the throat area. Not expressing yourself truthfully can also cause other problems within other chakras so it is very important to be honest with yourself and others.
Psychic abilities associated with the throat chakra are clairaudience (clear-hearing), clairscent (clear smelling), and clairgustance (clear tasting). Because this chakra houses three psychic abilities it is known as the main psychic center within our physical body. Many of us already know what clairaudience is but it is hearing spirit speaking to us and can also include telepathy which is hearing other’s thoughts. Clairscent is smelling things that are not normally there like smelling your grandmother’s favorite perfume or cigar smoke from your long past uncle. Clairgustance can be very disturbing for some. Many people who experience this ability can literally taste something that someone who has passed on has tasted when they were alive or even taste blood from a past one’s tragic death.
Now that we’ve discussed the ins and outs of the throat chakra let’s take a look at some quick facts about this expressful energy center.
